Wanting to build yourself a Diff but haven't worked out how you will mount your Brake Lines?
This listing is for-
1 x Triangle Tab (to suit live axle Commodore brake line, Diff to Body.)
3 x Brake Hardline Tabs (bendable)
2 x Caliper Hose Tabs
We use these kit's in all of our in-house/diff order builds.
This is not specific to any one model of vehicle, however is great for adapting a brake line to almost any vehicle that has a single brake line from the body to the diff, utilising VN-VS Commodore Brake Caliper lines and Diff to Body Line.
General Info-
These tabs will allow you to use the 3 x factory style rubber or braided Diff lines on a VN-VS Commodore.
You can set the Tabs up, purchase the 3 x lines and make up the 3/16" hardline yourself.
Or alternatively set the Tabs up on the Diff, Bolt the brakes on and then take the Diff down to your local brake specialist to have them make up the required lines. (have the Tabs mounted up first as most Brake specialist's wont want to be welding up tabs on your Diff)
Hel Performance are a great company that you can spec out your own custom braided hoses to suit your exact needs.
There is also plenty of companies that you can go instore to have them make up the Hardlines as well as the rubber or braided lines such as Pedders Suspension, just bare in mind not all stores have the equipment to make the rubber/braided lines.
For a Wilwood brake setup you will require different lines than the factory Commodore line,
You will need the caliper lines to be made with a Circlip swivel female on the Diff side and a 1/8" NPT on the Caliper side.
(bare in mind some factory IRS cars will have an individual line for each caliper, such as VT-VZ Sedans/Wagons ((utes can be plumbed into a single line))
Fabrication-
Weld the Triangle tab to your housing, typically around the centre pumpkin area (off to drivers side usually, be sure to not weld it on top of the pumpkin if running a factory floorpan as it may interfere)
The Triangle tab will fit the factory style rubber or braided brake line from the diff to the body from any Vb-Vs Commodore
Next mark out the route you will like your 3/16" Brake hardline to run along the diff, then with a small tack weld you can fix the 3 x thin bendable tabs along the marked route (typically 2 x on passenger side, 1 x on drivers as it is a shorter line to your triangle tab).
Lastly, weld your Caliper Line tabs on the housing tube, rear brace or 4 link bracket.
These will secure a factory rubber or braided Caliper Line from any Vb-Vs Commodore, however if getting custom lines made the fitting will be called a Circlip Female Swivel fitting (in your preferred thread type, Commodore will be M10 x 1mm)
Keep in mind to not mount the Caliper line tab too close to the housing end of the Diff as typically the Brake Caliper or Backing Plate will sit inward from the end of the housing by a couple inches.
